The last days

So, as of right now my mom is no longer able to recognize who any of us are anymore. Her heartrate is steady in the 30′s, blood pressure is constantly rising, and she has endured several seizures recently. I know that many of you would question why I would photograph these things, and to be honest, it’s because having the camera in my hand and capturing the moments helps me go through this. The thought that I can never make a phone call just to talk to my mom about my day is earthshattering and knowing that my brother will have buried both of his parents before he turns 20 simply hurts. I had one bit of comfort before I made the 3 hour drive back home last night. My mom was talking to herself, and when we asked who she was talking to she told us that she was talking to my dad, or as she said “Sidney”. I want to thank everyone for the continued support and prayers, and especially Eddie Marroquin for going so far out of his way for me last night. I cannot say thank you enough.

I think the photos are beautiful Lee!

my heart breaks for you guys. you will cherish these images later on, they are capturing such raw and beautiful life moments.

So sorry about all this. I can’t imagine what y’all must be going through. Be strong during this difficult time, man. I’m here for whatever y’all need. Love you guys.

Aunt Debbie

My heart is truly breaking right now…i want to be there holding her hand so she knows her Sissy is there with her!! Give her as much love as you can for as long as you can and please know…I am there with all of you in spirit!!

Lee, these are beautiful. I have a photo of my grandmother on her death bed, with a vent in (and one from a couple days before they put the vent in) and I have it just on my phone and when I scroll back through there, it makes me happy and sad at the same time. You are so great to do this despite what some close minded people may think about it.
This is life. Real life. This is what should be captured.

Prayers to you and your family. Long road ahead but in time it gets easier. I just watched Cherish go through this very thing.

Brittany Wilson

Anna & Emily [Vandebilt Seniors 2013]

Anna & Emily are my two senior models at Vandebilt High. I have blogged their prior sessions and we had planned to do a joint session. However, the weather in Louisiana has not been so cooperative lately. We shot on a rather muggy overcast day and came out with some amazing images that I’m very excited to share. Enjoy.

Photographer Shoot Out

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of hanging out with a group of amazing photographers for a shoot out in Baton Rouge. We had several options for models and I ended up working with Kristen, Amy, & Carley. They all had their own style and I think that these images show that. I’d also like to thank Tina Rodosta with Verde Beauty Studio for an awesome job.

Elijah McGuire | Part One

First and formost, I’d like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! My last shoot of 2012 was with Elijah. He is a senior at Vandebilt Catholic and it was a blast hanging out with him. I imediately wanted to work with Elijah when I heard his story. Most people only see him as a outstanding athelete, however, that sits on the backburner to his dedication to his family. I wish nothing but the best to this phenomenal young man. Stay tuned for part two.
